THE TOOLS BEHIND MY WORK

I started my journey with just a few old tools - most of them broken, modified, worn out, or incomplete after decades of professional use. I was lucky to have them, but it was frustrating at times.

Gradually, I began replacing them, sometimes making good choices and other times not so much. I suffered a lot from the classic “buy cheap, buy twice” in the beginning, and although I don’t think there’s a need to own the ultimate spec of every tool, I do appreciate having the right tool for the job and a decent level of quality.

This page was created to list some of the tools I recommend, and why, as well as to provide links to purchase them.

Some of these links may be affiliate links, which means I might receive a small commission, at no extra cost to you, if you choose to purchase through them. Every cent goes toward supporting this website.

Machining & Precision Tools

I do manual machining as a hobby. More often than not, that means making tools to make more tools, but I do try to put my machines to real use and actually accomplish something - even if, sometimes, that still involves making a tool to make another tool.

DIGITAL FABRICATION

From 3D printers and lasers to a small desktop CNC, these automated tools help speed up the process. They allow me to quickly prototype ideas, test them, and iterate more efficiently.

WORKSHOP ESSENTIALS

Hand tools, measuring tools, clamps, and consumables - they’re the gear I rely on. They don’t get the spotlight like the machines or specialized tools, but without them, nothing moves forward.
